For me, therapy always has an aspect of meditation to it. Sitting together, and bringing curious attention to thoughts and feelings as they come up, is an intrinsic part of what we do.
In my meditation-based groups, we bring this spirit of friendly observation to the shared work of making powerful, concrete changes in our lives.

Freeing Ourselves from Anxious Phone Use
A five-week therapy group using mindfulness (ACT, DBT, and the Tibetan Buddhist tradition) to help us disconnect from our devices and reconnect with the world around us.
Topics include:
The extraordinary value of being present
Stress, anxiety, and feeling “driven” to keep scrolling
Mindful observation and mindful empowerment
Emotions: from avoiding to “tending”
Finding the space to make a new choice – you can do it!
When: Two distinct five-week lunchtime groups are forming: Tuesdays at 12pm starting Feb. 10, and Thursdays at 2pm starting Feb. 12
Who: Any adult who is sick of screen time and ready for a change!
Where: Zoom (group members must be located in DC, MD, or VA)
Cost: $50/session (note, insurance reimbursement for group therapy is often possible: receipts/superbills provided on request)
